About Us
Our charity was founded on life experience and a deep understanding of the long-term impact of adoption and childhood trauma. For several years, our Chair of Trustees, Glesni, has been dedicated to supporting individuals affected by adoption an adoption support agency called Adoption Finder Intermediary Service — helping people to access records, trace family connections, and navigate the complex journey of contact and identity.
Through this work, it became clear that while practical support existed, there was a significant lack of specialist emotional support for those affected by adoption and early trauma. This gap inspired the creation of our charity — a place where people can access compassionate, trauma-informed care and support when they need it most.
Glesni Evans
It is a privilege for me to be the founder and to manage this charity on a day-to-day basis as a volunteer. My background as a social worker has allowed me to work in a range of areas including child protection, domestic abuse, substance misuse, supporting children with disabilities, mental health issues, and adoption. I have always enjoyed working with families, but through my experience, I came to recognise a clear need for specialist therapeutic support in order to create lasting, meaningful change.
I have seen firsthand how challenging it can be for individuals to develop positive parenting skills when they themselves have experienced negative or traumatic parenting in their own lives. Since 2020, I have been running an Adoption Support Agency called Adoption Finder Intermediary Service, through which I’ve gained deeper insight into the complex challenges faced by adults affected by adoption. It has become clear that there is often a significant lack of appropriate, specialist support available to meet their needs.
